い Ii for Hawaii (Looks like the two i's in Hawaii.
うU for Ooh! (The long stroke is a bent over old woman shuffling home. Above her, the small stroke is a brick about to hit her. When it does she yells Ooh!
え- E for Extra. (Looks like a Z with an extra little bit on top)
おO for On the green. (Looks like a golf course, the long cross at the top being the flag at which you're meant to direct your ball.)
は- Ha for Haha! Look at my slender girlfriend (The right half is a man wrapping his arm around his skinny girlfriend - the line on the left)
